MobiTrack Made My Life Simpler!

I was bound to be lost in the revamped federal capital but thankfully my father saw it coming. He was concerned and enlisted the help of a close friend who uses this mobile navigation service, MobiTrack to help him install the same service on my mobile phone. He was all praises about the features it had. It seemed to good to be true. That evening my father showed me how I can use MobiTrack to locate various places nearby.
We left from home and our position was instantly picked up by the system. It showed us a complete map of where we were. Then he typed in our family friend’s house address and MobiTrack showed us the entire route from our current position to that new location. It even had a route demo and voice navigation system that would tell you when to turn left and where to take a turn to reach our destination. The best part was that it even displayed the current speed at which we were going and the time and the number of kilometers left to reach our location.
I wasn’t able to truly experience MobiTrack in real time until I actually went to Islamabad and used this service to reach McDonalds in F-10 and my relative’s house in G-8. I could easily find out the nearest petrol station to my current location and my way to Jinnah super market from my relative’s house was not a worry anymore. I must say I had such an enthralling experience that now I frequently use MobiTrack to reach places. The best part is if now somebody tells me to reach somewhere I have never been before; I just don’t need to take directions anymore. I just feed the address in MobiTrack system on my mobile phone and it takes me directly to my desired location without any hassle. The simple life!

Ufone’s theme for 2010 – Spreading Smiles!

Ufone is one of the big 5 telecom companies of our country and it is definitely one of the pioneer companies who were at the forefront of our telecom industry’s early development phase. Last Friday, Ufone celebrated its 9th birthday and the whole theme around the birthday celebration campaign was revolving around collecting smiles from across the nation. On their 9th birthday, I extend my warm wishes to Ufone and good luck for the years ahead.
It is true that Ufone has spread smiles everywhere, may it be in the form of offering economical packages to its customers or coming up with hilarious ad campaigns for everyone for last 9 years. I must say I always adored Ufone for its creative ad campaigns. The way Ufone has adopted humor to create a niche for itself in the advertising clutter and chaos, it is really worth appreciation. I just can’t help but smile every time I see a new Ufone commercial on television.
This year’s theme for Ufone is “Spreading Smiles” and they initiated the process right from the celebration time of their 9th birthday. Ufone, on its 9th birthday asked its customers to send smiles to Ufone by sending birthday wishes and well quite a hundred and thousands of their satisfied customers did so by sending them their smiles in order to participate with Ufone in its birthday celebration.
As much as I enjoy watching Ufone’s commercials, I am equally concerned about the longevity of the same old fun and frolic theme in all of their ad campaigns. There is no denying the fact that people tend to like and recall funny ads more than other rather serious ads but at the same time, an ad campaign also depicts a brand’s personality. So far, Ufone is slapstick, comedy show kind of brand and as much as they want to spread smiles, I am of the view they need to get a little serous to identify them as a brand with a superior persona.
Ufone says it’s all about U but then not all of ‘you’ is funny, jolly, happy go lucky person. Especially the professional people or the corporate class wants some level of sophistication in everything they are using. Also, just as a cultured witty person is always preferred over a person cracking jokes all the time, a brand that encompasses a little bit of all traits is a brand for everyone than one which only incorporates one trait.
One thing I am pretty sure though, if the more serious professional class is not what they are targeting then it’s fun-loving nature will help Ufone go miles by spreading smiles! :)
